Level 7 Attire for the Spring Dance Concert

 General Guidelines:

• Costumes cannot be ironed or laundered. 
• A lost or damaged costume replacement would be very expensive, if the costume is able to be replaced at all.
• We have labeled many items, but please carefully label anything we may have missed and shoes with the dancer's name or initials using a permanent marker. 
• We do not distribute small accessories in advance such as hair pieces, gloves, etc… They will be provided at dress rehearsal and recital. This is because these items are easily lost or misplaced.
• Female dancers must not wear any panties under their costumes since tights function as panties.
• Please no jewelry with any costumes for dress rehearsal and recital- small studs in piercings are acceptable
• A backstage chaperone (or in most cases two chaperones) are assigned to each class to assist with the costumes and hair as well as childcare, and restrooms. 

Makeup:
All Makeup should be very bright for all performances as stage lighting washes out the face. We want to see those facial expressions!
Makeup Girls: Foundation, blush (more dramatic than everyday wear), neutral colored eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyelash extensions or mascara, and bright red lipstick.
Makeup Boys: mascara, blush, lip shade a few shades darker than natural color. Optional foundation, optional neutral eyeshadow, optional eyeliner.

Hair: 
​Hair will be in a low bun for ballet, tap, and contemporary. After contemporary, hair will be a low ponytail. 
Buns: All hair should be secured into a slicked back bun at the nape of the neck with a middle part. No hair is left out of the bun- no wispies or ringlets or bangs. Low bun with center part tutorial using a hairnet and bobbypins here and here is a tutorial for textured hair.

Costumes:
Girls Ballet:  Different brown dresses with skin color tights, pink or skin color ballet shoes
Girls Pointe: Black dress with skin color tights, pink or skin color pointe shoes
Characters: Multicolored dresses with tulle skirt

Tap:
white t-shirt, orange construction vest, denim jeans, skin color tights, nude tap shoes

Contemporary:
girls:  eggshell stretch twill and mesh crop top, eggshell stretch twill pants, skin color tights, skin color pirouettes

Hip Hop:
​White sequin top and blue pants, skin color tights, black hip hop sneakers

Hip Hop Production:
White sequin top, blue pants, white/blue jacket neck ties will be given at recital black hiphop shoes 

Jazz:
girls: black spandex and mesh leotard, black sheer mesh gloved sleeve shrug, skin color tights, skin color pirouettes

Finale:
Recital Tshirt & black shorts/leggings/pants that you provide.
